Helping businesses to progress their innovations

With the support from the UK Government’s Levelling Up fund we are helping a range of Humber based SMEs to reduce their carbon emissions through research and innovation. Working alongside businesses, our Innovation Managers and academic expertise are supporting a wide range of businesses to help accelerate their innovations into viable solutions – whether it’s an idea for a new product, process or service.

Humber Innovation Support Programme

Helping businesses turn their innovation ideas into reality

The funding, which is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), central to the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda, has been allocated to Hull City Council to support businesses within the Hull region to deliver their innovation ideas and help take new, innovative products and services to market, whilst generating new jobs and contributing to the economic growth of the region.

The project is being delivered by the University of Hull’s Aura Innovation Centre and provides businesses with access to world-class academic support and expertise, access to state-of-the-art innovation testing equipment and bespoke innovation project planning. The funding also includes;

  • Fully funded graduate level internship placement
  • 50% innovation grants up to £30k to help guide innovation ideas
  • 50% funded access to specialist academic expertise across a range of disciplines
  • Expert guidance in Intellectual Property

A central supply chain hub

The Supply Chain Network, from East Riding Yorkshire Council, is a scheme to help businesses gain easy access to local business opportunities, suppliers, investors and developers to pursue new commercial partnerships.

With free access to specialist advice, financial assistance and a programme of funded workshops and events, the scheme has been designed to link your business to a wide range of opportunities.
